Good bones

A flat that needed to be taken apart before it could become itself.

Walls came down, the kitchen moved, two bathrooms were made from a terrace — one with a shower that divides the space rather than hides in it. The custom carpentry does the rest: sage green and oak throughout, a built-in banquette, shelves that hold things worth looking at. A pink headboard. Brass. Objects that feel found rather than placed.

The light got in. It stayed.
